Making the Transition
Your health care professional will give you information about when NovoSeven® RT will be available for you. When NovoSeven® RT becomes available, you should finish using your current NovoSeven®, then start using NovoSeven® RT, unless otherwise advised by your health care professional.
Never mix NovoSeven® RT and original NovoSeven®. They are reconstituted with different solutions. And after you switch, properly dispose of any components used for reconstitution for original NovoSeven®.

Q:Why are there new vial sizes with NovoSeven® RT?
The new vial sizes for NovoSeven® RT are 1.0 mg, 2.0 mg, and 5.0 mg. The new vial sizes mean reconstituting NovoSeven® RT will now be easier. The new vial sizes are round numbers and color coded to match one-to-one with the provided diluent.
Q:Why is the infusion volume smaller?
An increase in concentration of the reconstituted NovoSeven® RT means that infusion volumes are 40% less than for original NovoSeven®.
Q:How will the new vial sizes affect dosing?
With the new vial sizes and higher concentration, the dose is the same but is easier to calculate.
Q:What is different about reconstituting NovoSeven® RT?
Now you reconstitute with a diluent containing histidine instead of sterile water. Histidine is a safe substance that is present in many foods that we eat. It is also used in many injectible medications. NovoSeven® RT comes prepackaged with the proper amount of the diluent containing histidine.
Q:Is the infusion kit separate from the NovoSeven® RT drug?
Yes. NovoSeven® RT, packaged with diluent, is ordered separately from the infusion kit. The infusion kit contains the supplies you need for infusion and is offered at no additional charge.
