Health Insurance

Managing and paying for health insurance is hard. With SevenSECURE®, you get help finding solutions through expert assistance, including:

  • Advice and support

    SevenSECURE® support services include appealing denials of coverage, getting reimbursement, providing letters of medical necessity, and answering claims questions,

  • Lifetime insurance cap tracking

    Predicts where and when you may need more insurance coverage based on your current status and your history of product usage. SevenSECURE® also provides automatic updates as you get closer to your cap.

  • Finding new or extra insurance

    SevenSECURE® can help guide you through the enrollment process of individual private policies, state-sponsored high-risk insurance, state-sponsored insurer-of-last-resort policies (with guaranteed issue and open enrollment), Medicare Part D plans, and/or COBRA.

  • Help with paying insurance premiums

    By enrolling in SevenSECURE® you may qualify for special programs that provide help with insurance premiums. For people with hemophilia with inhibitors, SevenSECURE® now supports an exclusive premium assistance program reserved just for them.

Getting factor when you're running out of options

If a lapse in insurance coverage is keeping you from getting the NovoSeven® RT treatment you need, SevenSECURE® may be able to help.

If you have a lapse in insurance coverage, OR
If your coverage is within $50,000 of your lifetime cap
Then you may qualify for up to 6 months or 300 mg of NovoSeven® RT (whichever lasts longer) FREE OF CHARGE.

Medical and Dental Expenses

If you have an inhibitor and your insurance is not covering all the services you need, SevenSECURE® may be able to help you pay for the following care-related costs, up to a total of $1500 per patient per year*:

  • Dental work and cleanings
  • Mobility and medical-aid devices
  • Educational meetings and conferences
  • Outpatient medical evaluation or treatment
  • Travel to and from your treatment center

Education

With SevenSECURE®, learning can truly be a lifetime opportunity, with educational grants and assistance available for people of all ages. There is even a grant for primary caregivers. **

  • Tutoring and Lessons grants for children K-12

    Tutoring and Lessons grants offer your family the opportunity to get tutoring and other forms of learning help for children from kindergarten through 12th grade. These grants may also be used towards swimming or music lessons. As a SevenSECURE® member, you may apply for a grant of up to $500 per year.

  • College and vocational scholarships

    SevenSECURE® awards the Professor Ulla Hedner Scholarships to high school seniors and college or vocational students. The scholarships, which range from $2000 to $7000 per person per year, are awarded once a year and recipients are chosen on a competitive basis. Applications are due by April 30 for the next school year and winners are announced during the summer. One award is available per eligible patient per year.

  • Adult education grants

    SevenSECURE® provides non-traditional grants, up to $2500 per person per year, to adults aged 23 and over who would like to take courses or get more training to help improve their career or transition to a new one. Applications are accepted throughout the year. SevenSECURE® will let you know the award status within 4-6 weeks of receiving the completed application. One award is available per eligible patient per year. Primary caregivers are also eligible for this grant.

Your Privacy Comes First

SevenSECURE® is a private program supported by Novo Nordisk Inc. and is operated by third-party administrators. Our administrators are committed to the confidentiality of your information. SevenSECURE® operates in strict accord with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).

SevenSECURE® will not share contact information unless permission is otherwise granted in writing by the patient or the patient's legal guardian. Those who enroll in SevenSECURE® may choose to share their contact information with Novo Nordisk in order to receive educational information.

* Insurance premium assistance programs are administered by Patient Services Incorporated (PSI), a leading nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. PSI evaluates requests using a sliding scale that identifies patient need beyond the aid given by many state and federal programs. This may make help available to those who do not qualify elsewhere. SevenSECURE® supports the efforts of PSI for persons with inhibitors or FVII deficiency.

** Scholarship Managers Inc. (SMI), an independent third party, reviews all of the applications and essays. For scholarships of a competitive nature, SMI determines awards based on internal scoring criteria. Scholarship winners will be announced each year during the summer. Payment is made directly to the school. Primary caregivers must reside at the same address as the SevenSECURE® member.
